Growing up is hard to do!

Eliza Faris with her Mother's Day Out teachers from this past year, Ms. Ladonna and Ms. Donna (they are wonderful!! the new baby will have them in 2010-2011!)

Lovin' on her Margarita after she woke up from a nap

Hello! Just wanted to check in on a few things that Eliza Faris is doing. First of all, she is almost walking! She stands up from a sitting position without holding onto anything. She also pushes her toys around the house. I know that she'll soon take those first steps. :) In the spirit of walking, we went to Stride Rite on Saturday when Margarita was in town and she bought EF some walking shoes! They are so darling on her. I have let her go everywhere barefoot for the last few weeks because I'm realizing that the days of no shoes when we go places are coming to an end very soon. Our little lady will want to run all over the grocery store and I can't let her have bare feet, now can I?
In other news, per doctor request, I have been slowing weaning Eliza Faris off of a bottle. Apparently she doesn't need 4 bottles a day at 12 months old! Ha. Or bottles at all for that matter. I started awhile ago, but as of yesterday, she got a morning bottle, sippy cup of milk at lunch/afternoon snack, and a bottle before bed. I decided that today would be the end of the morning bottle. Wow, I never knew how much a routine was important to a baby. She threw a fit allll morning! She was so upset and sensitive, even though she did eat breakfast and was not going hungry. Everytime I tried to hand her the sippy cup of milk she would throw it and cry. So sad :(. I put her in her room to play like she usually does after breakfast and she found an old pacifier. She sucked the life out of that thing for about an hour while she played before getting over it. I'm sure she'll be fine in a few days but I can't imagine what it'll be like to take away her bedtime bottle!!?? Advice on how to drop the bedtime bottle? I would like to have a few bottle-free months before the baby gets here. Wouldn't want any battles when new baby Connor gets a bottle!

Lastly, throw out my previous post about the new fabulous schedule. It wasn't working out, so we are a one nap family (that is, until baby #2 comes and we start all over!). EF goes down after lunch. I guess it's nice so that I can run errands, go walking, hit the pool or playground before lunch and then have a few hours of quiet time. She seems to handle it fine unless we're in the car around 11ish...she falls asleep and I'm like, NOOOO, you have to eat lunch first!!
Enjoy a few pictures of the past few days/weeks. She is growing up so fast!!
