Just a few reasons my job as a stay-at-home mom is the greatest job in the world:
1. I get to spend the whole day with my little girl: playing, cuddling, or hitting the playground. Obviously some days are harder than others; but I can't imagine having to be away from her every day. I have to pinch myself sometimes when I love on her. She's so dang cute and why on earth have I been chosen to be her Mommy?!
2. I can have lunch with Caleb any day I want. This week he came home Monday and Tuesday and we met him for lunch today at Macaroni Grille. I love having this freedom and EF and I love seeing Daddy at lunch.
3. I can run my errands at good times. We go errand-running in the morning or late afternoon after EF's nap. I don't have to deal with grocery store crowds since we go at 9 in the morning!
4. Naptime: This time of the day (right now) is wonderful. I can play on the computer, watch TV, or even take a nap. I love that both Eliza Faris and I have a few hours to rest on our own before tackling the rest of the day.
5. We go walking every day for about an hour or a bit longer. I love the chance to hit the pavement and Eliza Faris talks and sings and points at things along the way. It's a great way for me to feel healthier in my pregnancy, get EF out of the house, and feel like I've done something productive. I also use this time some days to make phone calls to friends and family.
6. I can take care of things for our family like cleaning, dropping/picking up drycleaning, grocery shopping, and laundry without having to do any of it when Caleb is home. I love that when he is home, we concentrate on our family and leave all the stresses to the "work week".
7. Every day is different. I can make plans and change them at the drop of the hat. Pool day can turn into stay inside and play games day without a hitch. Some days we spend a lot of time in the car running errands and other days we never leave the house.
I have been thinking about this for several days. Not sure why, but I guess it just hits me sometimes how blessed I am that I can stay home and care for my child (soon to be children!). Caleb has never pressured me at all to work and really appreciates and respects what I do at home. While I may not technically make money for our family nor am I the best cleaner in the world, I do try to keep things sane around the house so that we can enjoy the little bit of family time that we have. Sometimes Caleb wonders why I do certain things (like forget to brush EF's teeth), but I just tell him that if he was here all day he would understand! We have more important things on our minds like playing and tickling and reading books! Thanks to Caleb for being such a good Daddy to EF and husband to me!

This is so sweet, Faris. It made me cry. You put into words exactly how I have felt being YOUR mother. Blessed, blessed, blessed.
Kisses to my little EF!

I love this post and totally agree it's the best job a gal could hope for. Even though I'm only a part-time stay-at-home mom, I adore every moment. We are most certainly blessed.
